Intel Core 2 Duo E4300: 1.8 GHz Two-Core
The E2160 CPU (Central Processing
Unit) is built on the same architecture that powers
today's most powerful servers. This is Intel's mainline
consumer chip which is able to handle a surprising
workload.
Years ago, processor performance was measured in
Megahertz. With similar performance per MHz between all
the major competitors, it was a simple comparison to
decide which CPU was the fastest. Today things are
slightly more complicated. These days, when deciding on
a processor, you need to account for how many cores
(multiple processors built into a single chip) it has,
which instruction set it has, whether it supports the
built in virtualization codecs and finally, it's MHz.
RAID mirroring or striping, additional
IP addresses, custom reverse lookup DNS, Plesk or
Cpanel control panels and remote reboot are all
available on request. We provide all of these features
on demand for your new or existing dedicated
server.
ABOUT THE SERVER
Q: How fast is this processor?
A: For the vast majority of our customers, the answer is
simple: VERY FAST! This much processing power was simply not
available just a few years ago. The truth is that most
clients need dedicated servers for other reasons than raw
processing power and it is a mistake to seek out the most
expensive processor.
The real secret is I/O
What they really need is a dedicated I/O (input/output)
system with quick hard drives and no other clients to share
it with. This is why we use enterprise hard drives rated for
24/7 operation. Your data needs to arrive quickly and
reliably.
RAID1 (Mirror)
Since each system comes with two hard drives, everyone is
encouraged to use the safety net of Mirror RAID, which
replicates all your data over both hard drives. This allows
for quick recovery in the event of catastrophic hard drive
failure.
